India’s iQOO Orangutan delivered a mixed bag of performances during the PMGC 2025 Group Green stage, finishing with 46 points after two days and sitting 11th or 13th in the standings. The squad, led by Aaru, started with promise but struggled with consistency across 12 matches.
PMGC 2025 Group Green Stage: Day 1 Struggles
Orangutan opened strongly with nine points including five kills in Match 1, followed by three points in Match 2 and a solid 10 points with six eliminations in Match 3, totaling 22 points from the first half.
However, the team faltered later, scoring zero in Match 4, three in Match 5, and just one in Match 6, ending Day 1 in 10th place with 26 points (18 eliminations, eight position points). Alpha Gaming dominated with 90 points, leaving Orangutan needing a turnaround.
Day 2 Highlights and Lows
Day 2 brought India’s first Chicken Dinner of PMGC 2025 in Match 11 on Miramar, where Orangutan secured 16 points with six eliminations, providing a much-needed boost.
Yet, zero-point finishes in Matches 7, 8, 10, and 12 due to early wipes and failed rotations hampered progress, adding only 20 points to reach 46 total. Alpha Gaming extended their lead to 128 points, while teams like Alter Ego (100 points) and Team GOAT (95 points) surged ahead.
Path Forward
With Day 3 underway on November 30, Orangutan must climb into the top 11 for Last Chance qualification, as top three advance directly to Grand Finals and bottom five exit.
The Indian side’s aggressive style yielded 37+ eliminations but exposed 4v4 fight weaknesses and rotation errors. Fans hope for a strong finish in the remaining six matches to salvage their PMGC campaign.
