KRAFTON India today announced the commencement of BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SHOWDOWN (BMSD) 2026, bringing together 48 of India’s top-performing BGMI teams for an invite-only battle that will unfold across multiple competitive stages, culminating in the LAN Grand Finals from October 16-18 in Hyderabad.
BGMI Showdown 2026 (BMSD 2026) Kicks Off Today
The tournament kicks off today with the Promotion & Relegation stage, marking the start of a month-long journey for teams competing for a place at the LAN Finals and a share of the ₹1 Crore prize pool – with the eventual champion walking away with ₹30 lakh.
The 48-team field brings together some of Indian BGMI esports’ most decorated organisations, including defending champions Orangutan, who won BMSD’s debut edition in Hyderabad last year under in-game leader Aaru. They are joined by GodLike Esports, winners of BMPS 2026; Team Soul, champions of BGIS 2026; and Nebula Esports, winners of the BGMI Masters Series Season 5 – part of a field that has doubled in size from BMSD 2025 as the tournament enters its second edition.
The BMSD 2026 LAN Grand Finals will take place from October 16–18 at Savaaya Convention, Gandipet, Hyderabad, bringing the tournament’s final contenders together for its concluding stage.
BMSD is a closed-door, invite-only championship featuring 48 of India’s top-performing teams, selected through the KIE Leaderboard, BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES (BGIS) and BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES (BMPS). With no open registrations, participation in the tournament has been earned entirely through competitive performance.
The stakes extend beyond the prize pool: the top 6 teams from BMSD 2026 will progress to the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA INTERNATIONAL CUP (BMIC) 2026, facing sides from Japan and South Korea, with India’s strongest performers going on to represent the country at the GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2026.
All matches across the BMSD 2026 season, including the LAN Grand Finals, will be broadcast live on the KRAFTON India Esports YouTube channel, beginning at 1:00 PM IST each day.
