The Indian BGMI community is bracing for its biggest roster shake-up of 2026. After months of intense speculation and a rollercoaster performance at BGIS, Jonathan “JONATHAN” Amaral has officially confirmed his exit from GodLike Esports.
Jonathan Gaming Left Godlike Esports
During a recent high-stakes livestream, the “Universal MVP” broke his silence, informing his massive “Jony Army” that his tenure with the star-studded organization has come to a close. However, the wait for his next move won’t be long: Jonathan has set a one-week deadline for the announcement of his new team and organization.
The End of a Golden Era
Jonathan’s departure marks the conclusion of one of the most successful partnerships in Indian esports history. Since donning the GodLike jersey in 2021, he transformed from a prodigy into a global icon, synonymous with the organization’s aggressive playstyle and massive commercial reach.
While the split feels sudden to some, insiders point to the post-BGIS 2026 fallout as the catalyst. Despite a valiant effort in the Grand Finals, the internal dynamics of the squad appeared to be shifting, leading to what Jonathan described as a “necessary new chapter” for his career.

What’s the Next Move? (The Rumors)
While the official reveal is seven days away, the industry is already buzzing with theories about where the GOAT will land.
- Founder Mode: The strongest rumors suggest Jonathan is following in the footsteps of legends like Mortal and Scout by launching his own banner. Amaral Esports is the name currently circulating among the community.
- The Content Synergy: Speculation is rife regarding a collaboration with lifestyle creator SSR Vlogs. This partnership could signal a move toward a “lifestyle-meets-esports” model, similar to global giants like FaZe Clan or 100 Thieves.
- The Dream Roster: Reports suggest Jonathan may be reuniting with Jelly, aiming to build a squad that balances veteran leadership with raw mechanical skill.
Why the Timing Matters
The announcement comes right as the BGMI Transfer Window reaches its peak. With major tournaments on the horizon, Jonathan’s new venture will need to hit the ground running to secure a spot at the top of the leaderboards.
By taking control of his own professional destiny, Jonathan isn’t just looking for a new jersey—he’s looking to build a legacy that he owns entirely.
