While we are still grinding through the frosty battles of version 4.1, the internet is already buzzing with leaks for the upcoming PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update. If you’ve been hearing whispers about a “Woodprimer” mode, you’re on the right track. The official beta leaks point to a massive nature-overhaul called the Prime Wood Genesis Mode.
From rideable giant scorpions to cross-match inventory mechanics, here is everything we know about the upcoming update slated for early 2026.
PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update: Prime Wood Genesis Mode
Also known in the leak community as the “Woodprimer” or “Sacred Tree” theme.
The 4.2 update is ditching the futuristic tech for ancient, overgrowing nature. The Erangel map will reportedly see a “Last of Us” style reclamation where massive roots and glowing flora take over key cities.
1. The World Tree & Map Changes
A colossal Sacred Tree will dominate the map, acting as the centerpiece of the update.
- Overgrown Hot Drops: Classic locations like Pochinki and Yasnaya Polyana are being transformed. Expect to see buildings wrapped in massive vines and new “root bridges” that allow you to traverse high above the streets without touching the ground.
- Vine Portals: Random portals will spawn that teleport players to “Vine Temples” high in the sky—perfect for sniping or escaping a squad wipe.
2. The “Gardening” Meta (Cross-Match Loot)
This is the biggest game-changer. Leaks suggest a new item called the Lumina Fruit Bud.
- How it works: You plant this seed in a hidden spot during Match A. It will not be ready immediately.
- The Payoff: If you return to that exact spot in Match B (your next game), the plant will have fully grown, granting you high-tier loot (Level 3 vests, AWMs, etc.) right at the start of the match.
- Warning: Enemy players can reportedly spot mature plants and steal your loot if you aren’t fast enough!

PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update New Vehicles: Scorpions and Divine Deers
Forget the UAZ; the 4.2 update is introducing “Beast” vehicles that fit the primal theme.
The Bramblewood Scorpion
This is a summonable vehicle (via an item called the Scorpion Horn) that fits two players.
- Burrow Ability: The Scorpion can dig underground to move stealthily and pop up behind enemies.
- Combat: It features a “Pincer Strike” for melee damage and can launch “Spike Bombs” to slow down enemy squads.
The Sacred Deer
A faster, more agile mount for rapid rotations.
- It leaves a blooming trail of flowers as it runs (which looks cool but might give away your position!).
- Offers high mobility but less protection than the Scorpion.
New Weapons & Tools
- The Flower Wing: A new glider/wingsuit item. It allows for short bursts of flight or “dashing” in mid-air to reposition during gunfights.
- Lashing Vine: A tactical throwable or skill that releases a vine to scout ahead or perhaps trap enemies (details are still thin on this one).
- Honey Badger Buffs: Leaks suggest the Honey Badger will receive specific tuning to make it more viable in this close-quarters forest combat.
When is PUBG Mobile 4.2 Update Release Date?
Based on the current beta timeline and the typical 2-month cycle of PUBG Mobile seasons:
- Beta Phase: Currently Live (December 2025).
- Global Release: Expected 7th January 2026.
The “Prime Wood” update looks like it will force players to look up. With vertical gameplay on vines, flight mechanics, and underground scorpion attacks, holding a simple compound won’t be enough anymore.
